Free online session: EMC testing applicable to EV charging stations

On Tuesday the 21st of January 2025: 13:30 – 14:30.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of modern transportation. Their integration into the market is growing at an unprecedented and unpredictable pace. However, as more EVs connect to the electrical grid, concerns about grid stability and power quality continue to rise. One critical aspect of ensuring a seamless integration of EVs into the grid is maintaining electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

The Dutch EMC-ESD Society organizes a 45-minute online lunchsession, providing an overview over the importance of EMC in the context of EV charging. It will focus on key standards like ECE R10 and IEC 61851, which outline EMC requirements for: “off-board chargers”, commonly referred to as: “charging stations”. These standards are essential to ensuring that charging infrastructure operates without interference and complies with regulatory expectations.

Attendees will gain insights into vital topics that charing stations face. These include: the applical legal EMC requirements, specific test limits that must be met, and the general test setups used to evaluate different charging modes. Additionally, the webinar will delve into specialized test setups designed to assess conducted and radiated EMC, offering an understanding of how to ensure compliance with these standards.

By attending, participants will leave with an understanding of best practices for achieving EMC compliance in EV charging technology. This webinar is a must for professionals in the EV sector, grid management, electronics designers, test-engineers or anyone involved in developing and testing EV infrastructure. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your knowledge and stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field!
